But after walking the grounds of hundreds of resorts worldwide to see what differentiates one from another, I’m going to let you in on an industry secret: there is no single worldwide organization handing out hotel stars.
A five-star rating in Aruba is judged entirely differently than five stars in France, or Mexico, or French Polynesia.
Often, traditional star systems only measure hardware—like room square footage, the presence of an elevator, or reception hours. They tell you absolutely nothing about the warmth of the service, the quality of the food, or whether you will actually enjoy your vacation.
To give my clients the real truth, I look past the hotel’s self-appointed stars.
I cross-reference recognized professional benchmarks like AAA Diamonds, Forbes Travel Guide service standards, and the prestigious MICHELIN Keys.

Recently I took the time to have a look around “Out West” checking out some Dude Ranches and Ski Resorts to get a better understanding of what is available closer to home so that I can best advise clients wanting to keep their 2021 vacation socially distanced and domestic, yet still desiring a luxury experience. One of my favorites was the Triple Creek Ranch
In short, this resort is impressive!
Surrounded by 4 Million acres of National Forests and protected lands, this 700 acre ranch offers 25 cabins nestled into a pristine pine forest in SW Montana. The accommodations are outstanding and perfect for a Honeymoon, an Anniversary celebration, a couples retreat or just some time away to relax and reconnect. One of the less reported but most upsetting aspects of this COVID-19 global pandemic is that so many weddings have been cancelled out of necessity. It’s beyond upsetting to consider how much time and effort so many couples poured into their dream wedding, only to see it undone in no time due to the necessities of social distancing. Just a quick outline reminds us of the work and time invested…..
